Turkish Cypriots marked the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC

President Ersin Tatar attended the ball organised by the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations in the UK to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC and the Council. The Turkish Ambassador to the UK Osman Koray Ertaş and TRNC Representative to London Çimen Keskin also attended the ball. In his speech, the President stated that he was honoured to be with the citizens of London on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC and the Council.
Tatar noted that the Turkish Cypriot people had suffered for many years, but they had achieved their state and today they continue on their way with their state even in a stronger way. Stating that national sensitivities are at the highest level in the UK, Tatar stressed that they will protect national unity and solidarity for the future.

Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations in the UK President Kenan Nafi

In his opening speech, Council President Kenan Nafi congratulated the 40th anniversary of the TRNC and the council and said, "We are working in unity and solidarity, even though we have differences, we will achieve good things." Dr. Commemorating Küçük and Denktaş and the beloved martyrs, Nafi stated that, as citizens living in England, it is our primary duty to promote the country and move it forward and said, “We will continue to do our part. "As Turkish Cypriots, we are standing here, getting stronger with each generation and continuing on our way," he said.

TRNC Ambassador to London Çimen Keskin

TRNC London Representative Çimen Keskin congratulated the 40th anniversary of TRNC and the council and said that it was an honor for President Tatar's participation. Stating that the Turkish Cypriot people declared their state with the support of the Republic of Turkey and that the state has completed its 40th anniversary despite all the difficulties and has achieved great success during this period, Çimen expressed his hope that the TRNC will reach the place it deserves in the international arena as soon as possible.

He said that he did all this despite the isolation and embargoes in front of the world.

Voting for Turks abroad in TRNC

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) TRNC President Ersin Tatar said that they have initiated efforts to enable Turkish Cypriots living in the United Kingdom to vote in the TRNC elections. He underlined that in order for this study to be implemented, it must be passed into law in the TRNC Parliament. Turkish Cypriots living in the United Kingdom will be able to vote in the TRNC elections without the requirement of residence in the TRNC.
