AVRUPA TIMES/LONDON-Prime Minister Yıldırım stated that, "Russia's Ambassador to Turkey, Mr. Andrei Karlov, was attacked today during his speech on the occasion of the painting exhibition on ‘Turkey-Russia relations and the past’, and unfortunately has lost his life despite all our efforts. Our security forces have neutralized the attacker. In addition to the Ambassador, three of the visitors of the exhibition, one being a foreign national have been wounded. The wounded are being treated. "
Yıldırım said that, "We are saddened by the loss of this valuable Ambassador, whom we have
been able to work closely with in Moscow just last week" and continued his words as follows: "Every effort is being made to bring the perpetrators of this heinous terrorist attack and the dark forces behind them into the open and deliver them to justice."
