After Nesil Caliskan a by-election will be held in Jubilee ward in Enfield

Jubilee ward by-election. Following the resignation of Councillor Nesil Caliskan, a by-election will be held in Jubilee ward in Enfield on Thursday 28 November. To vote, residents aged 18 or over on polling day from within Jubilee ward will need to be included on Enfield Council’s electoral register.Residents must also be a British, EU, or qualifying Commonwealth citizen living in the UK to vote.Jubilee ward residents who have not already registered to vote, can do easily online by visiting GOV.UK’s register to vote webpage: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-voteThe final date for anyone not already registered within the Jubilee ward for inclusion on the electoral register ahead of the by-election is by midnight on Tuesday 12 November 2024.The deadline for postal vote applications is 5pm on Wednesday 13 November 2024 and for proxy vote applications, 5pm on Wednesday 20 November 2024.

Polling stations in Jubilee ward will be open from 7am to 10pm on polling day.

Ian Davis, Chief Executive and Returning Officer at Enfield Council, said: “It’s important to make sure your voice is heard in your local elections.

“If you are not already registered to vote, you can do so online or by contacting our Electoral Services team.

“If you decide to vote by post, please don’t wait until the deadline to apply. Sending your application now will make sure it is processed early, and your postal vote can be sent to you more quickly.”

If Jubilee ward residents are registered to vote and would like to apply to vote by post or by proxy, they are advised to visit:

Residents voting in person at their designated polling station will be required to bring photo identification (ID). Details on the types of accepted ID can be found on the Council’s voter ID page: https://www.enfield.gov.uk/services/councillors-and-democracy/voter-id

Polling cards will be posted in advance to eligible residents who are already on the electoral register.

It is not essential to bring a polling card to the polling station on the day of the by-election to vote.
