Kazakh National University officially inaugurated a Turkish language course for students

AVRUPA TIMES-LONDON-This significant milestone was made possible through the invaluable support of the Turkish Consulate in Almaty, and it represents a major step forward in fostering cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, as well as enhancing the educational opportunities for our students. On February 05,2025, The establishment of this course is a testament to the strong and growing relationship between Kazakhstan and Türkiye. By offering Turkish language instruction, organizers aim to bridge the cultural and linguistic gap between two nations. This initiative will not only enrich our students' academic experiences but also provide them with a deeper understanding of Turkish culture, traditions, and values.

Ayhan Korkmaz, the Education Attaché of the Turkish Consulate in Almaty, played a pivotal role in the realization of this project. During the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Korkmaz warmly greeted the students and faculty, expressing his enthusiasm for the initiative. He encouraged the participants to embrace the opportunity to learn not only the Turkish language but also to immerse themselves in the rich and diverse culture of Türkiye. "Learning a language is not just about words and grammar; it's about understanding the people, their history, and their way of life," Mr. Korkmaz emphasized.

The introduction of the Turkish language course at KazNARU aligns perfectly with KazNARU’s mission to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded education to our students. In today's globalized world, proficiency in multiple languages is an invaluable asset.

It opens doors to new opportunities, fosters cross-cultural understanding, and enhances employability. By learning Turkish, our students will gain a competitive edge in the job market and be better prepared to engage in international collaborations.

Moreover, the cultural exchange facilitated by this initiative extends beyond the classroom. KazNARU envisions a range of activities and events that will allow students to experience Turkish culture firsthand. These include cultural festivals, guest lectures, film screenings, and culinary events, all designed to provide a holistic learning experience.
Such activities will help our students appreciate the nuances of Turkish culture and create lasting connections with their Turkish peers.

He said “we are grateful to the Turkish Consulate in Almaty for their unwavering support and look forward to the positive impact this initiative will have on our students and the broader university community. As we embark on this exciting journey, we invite our students to seize this opportunity to broaden their horizons, deepen their cultural understanding, and build a brighter future for themselves and our nations.”
