Advice sessions for exam students

The Council’s Careers Service has arranged sessions between 10am and 1.30pm at the Civic Centre on Monday 19 August for A-Level students and on Wednesday 28 August for GCSE students.

The sessions -which need to be booked in advance by emailing [email protected] - will give students a chance to talk about their next steps including applications to university, their career interests, setting realistic goals, searching for job opportunities and apprenticeships and getting help with CVs, application forms and personal statements.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Cllr Rick Jewell, said: “We want all of our young people to get brilliant exam results and follow their chosen path, but unfortunately life doesn’t always work like that.

"These course are there to provide practical help and support for students who haven’t achieved the grades they wanted to and give them advice about their options so they can enter the next phase of their education or working life with confidence. “

“We are committed to helping support young people to reach their potential, whether that is through a university degree, an apprenticeship or training schemes. Enfield is a borough of enormous opportunities and has a bright future ahead of it and we want our young people to benefit from and help build a successful borough in the years to come.”

Sessions are also held monthly throughout the year for residents aged 16-18 and not in education, employment or training. You can find more details at https://new.enfield.gov.uk/services/children-and-education/help-and-support/enfield-careers-service/#5
