Transport for London Weekend travel information

London-On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January, no national rail services will run to/from London King's Cross station. This is due to Network Rail maintenance works to the track, drainage and overhead lines.This closure will also take place on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February. Monday 27 until Thursday 30 January

No service between Sydenham and West Croydon after 22:15 each night

Use Southern Railway services or local bus routes. This is due to Network Rail maintenance work.
Elizabeth line
Saturday 25 January

No service between Whitechapel and Shenfield

Use alternative Tube services to Stratford. Rail replacement buses will run between Stratford and Romford, and between Newbury Park and Shenfield via Chadwell Heath. This is due to Network Rail maintenance works.
Last train from Heathrow T5 (00:07) will terminate at Ealing Broadway

Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes. This is due to HS2 works.
Sunday 26 January

No service between Stratford and Shenfield

Use alternative Tube services for Stratford. Rail replacement buses will run between Stratford and Romford, and between Newbury Park and Shenfield via Chadwell Heath. This is due to Network Rail maintenance works.
No service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway until 07:45

This is due to HS2 works.
Reduced service between Paddington and Maidenhead

Trains will not stop at Acton Main Line, Hanwell and West Ealing. This is due to HS2 works. 


DLR
Saturday 25 January

Tower Gateway station will be closed

Use nearby Bank station to access the DLR. This is due to maintenance work.
No service between Westferry and Poplar

Use local bus routes. This is due to track work.
Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January

No service between Stratford International and Woolwich Arsenal, and between Poplar and Beckton

Use alternative Tube or Southeastern services, or local bus routes. This is due to maintenance work.
Buses and roads
     
Bus journeys will be affected by the following changes over the weekend. We expect to run a good service, but buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination. 
 
Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January

Oval Cricket Ground

From 07:00 until 21:30 each day, Oval Cricket Ground will host a walking event. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
Sunday 26 January

Trafalgar Square

From 12:00 until 17:00, an annual parade will take place at Trafalgar Square. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
Tuesday 28 January until Sunday 2 March

Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge will be closed from 22:00 until 05:00 each night for City of London bridge works. During the closures, bus routes 42, 78 and 343 will be diverted or stop short of their usual destinations. 

Routes 42 and 78 will serve all stops on diversion via Queen Elizabeth Street, Tooley Street, London Bridge, King William Street and Eastcheap. Route 343 will not serve stops on Tower Bridge Road, starting and finishing at Queen Elizabeth Street bus stand.

Check before you travel and allow more time for your journey.
Thursday 30 January until Friday 7 February

Lambeth Bridge

Lambeth Bridge will be closed to all motorised vehicles and cyclists between 21:30 and 05:00 each night.

Use alternative river crossings. This is part of safety improvement works to replace the unsignalised roundabouts at either end of Lambeth Bridge with signal-controlled junctions.
Until Wednesday 29 January

A20 Sidcup Road and Sidcup Bypass

Essential maintenance works will take place between 22:00 and 05:00 each night on the A20 involving repairs to the road, barriers and road studs, as well as gully cleaning, lighting maintenance and other works identified by our safety inspections. 

The works will take place in phases on the following dates:
Until Friday 24 January: Clifton's roundabout to Frognal Corner roundabout (Kent-bound)
Friday 24 to Saturday 25 and Monday 27 to Wednesday 29 January: Frognal Corner roundabout to M25 Junction 3
During the works there will be restricted access to residents on the A20 and Sidcup Road. In some phases of work there will be no access to the A20 on certain roads. Signed diversions will be in place.

Until Monday 17 February

A40 Westway

Every weekend until Monday 17 February, the A40 Westway will be closed eastbound between the Westway roundabout and Marylebone Flyover. The closure takes place at weekends only from 22:00 on Fridays to 05:00 on Mondays. This is while we carry out critical safety improvements.
