Council set to deliver on commitment to create new mental health hub in Enfield

The approved plans will see significant investment in building improvements at the Park Avenue Resource Centre site, providing a better-quality space for the delivery of mental health services.The new Mental Health Hub in Park Avenue will provide a range of community-based specialist services and a community café for out-of-hours crisis support, along with a service which supports people who are living with long-term mental health conditions.Additional services at the hub will include assistance in preventing social isolation and reducing the escalation of an individual’s mental and physical health conditions. Help and support in assisting people into employment will also be offered.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care at Enfield Council, Cllr Alev Cazimoglu, said: “I am delighted that approval for this project has been agreed. It meets a really important commitment to deliver high-quality services for people working and living with mental ill health.

“By consolidating the service at an improved Park Avenue hub, it will help us to continue our work to deliver good quality, safe and personalised health and social care services, that support independence, and meet the needs of individuals and their carers at the right place and at the right time.

“It’s imperative users of mental health services in the borough continue to receive the best possible support available.”

In line with the Council Plan for 2023 to 2026, the approved proposal aims to reduce social isolation and improve mental health by developing inclusive community spaces and services.
