Should we ban kissing in public places? For some reason it seems to really annoy most of us when we we see couples out in public canoodling. Maybe we're jealous of their happiness and the affection they're getting? Maybe we think they're trying to show off? Sometimes it begs belief that couples can have the audacity to kiss passionately in front of us without a concern in the world. If you've ever been lost in the heat of the moment with a lover, you really don't care what others think, it's just the two of you in your own bubble.
Should public displays of affection be banned in public though? In July, a driver on a public bus in Istanbul demanded a couple get off the bus for "making love." It hasn't been reported what the couple on the bus were actually doing but it does raise questions about public displays of affection and how far is too far. Another story of public displays of affection, buses, and Istanbul happened two years ago. The story involves a couple who were apparently holding hands on the bus and were ordered to get off by the driver. Some people may think that story is a little crazy!
The topic of public displays of affection is a big debate issue and I am sure a lot of people have something to say about it. I think there is nothing wrong with public displays of affection. We should be free to express our love to our lovers. However saying that we should also be sensitive to others and know when too far is too far if you know what I mean! However how we define "too far" is different for everyone and even in years to come people will still be talking about these issues.
