Classes On a Plane

After finishing its lifetime in the skies, this plane was waiting for its turn to be scrapped when it found its new home, a school, becoming a class for many generations to come Located in İzmir, Turkey Private Oğuzhan Özkaya Education Institute came up with the idea when a fellow student said ‘Why don’t we have a plane on our school yard?’ leading to a chain of events ending with institution buying an old airplane that finished its life cycle. After being located and fixed to the grounds of the schoolyard, the old plane was turned into a classroom that pupils would enjoy. 

Plane now has 20 computers fully equipped with software which students use to learn robotic coding and software programming as well as English classes. Besides being used as a classroom, the plane is also serving as a library to students. And for the entertainment and breaks, plane also has a flight simulator that tours around the city of İzmir and then gets back to its new home at Oğuzhan Özkaya Education Institute Campus.
