The Curious Case of Çatalhöyük’, which is on at the Brunei Gallery, SOAS, until 15th December, was developed to celebrate the 25th season of the Çatalhöyük Research Project. It allows visitors to gain a better understanding of the work carried out by archaeologists by showing the different phases of archaeological study, moving from the initial phase of excavation to the documentation of finds, and from laboratory analysis to the publication of data. It also demonstrates how the field of archaeology is evolving alongside advances in technology, with new tools and techniques being employed to aid not only research, but also the analysis and interpretation of data.
