By Catherine Fields-Tuesday 14 May 2013 Sotheby's Geneva will be having an auction titled Magnificent Jewels & Noble Jewels with the exceptional Jewellery from the collection of Gina Lollobridgida other items include jewel of aristocratic providence and historic importance.
This will be sotheby Geneva 7th sale of noble jewels and spearheaded by a fancy yellow diamond and set with a 74.53 caret cushion shape fancy yellow diamond as shown here
This jewel formed part of the private collection of His late Imperial Majesty Sultan Ahmed Shar Qajar the seventh and last ruler of the Qajar dynasty of Persia (1909-1925) this will be under lot number 585 and estimated CHF 1,310,000 -1,680.000/ $1,400.000-1,800.000
This exceptional piece was willed by the His Majesty to his grandchildren and sold by them to Sothebys in May 1983 this jewel a very rare vestige of the Persian dynasty`s great passion for such gemstones.

This would have been handed down to His Majesty Ahmed Shah by his grandfather Nasser al-Din Shah Qajar(b.1831-1896)the first modern Persian monarch to visit Europe.
His Majesty was a great lover of diamonds and gemstones and he commissioned many important work now in the National Treasury of Iran

This necklace is suspending a 12.60 carat pear shape diamond which has been certified D colour t and internally flawless this item will be lot 631 at the auction
