Enfield Dugdale Arts Centre is preparing for a massive artist takeover

Taking place on 2 March 2024, the free event will have interactive drop-in sessions encompassing arts, exhibitions and screenings, including a chance to meet artists like Dan Maier, Owen Wall and Pinhole London.Residents can enjoy an afternoon of performances from the award-winning, inclusive theatre Chickenshed, learn about the latest projects from nationally renowned artists and take part in activities with Clang Studios, Tiger Monkey UK and many more. Led by Enfield Council, and funded by the Arts Council, the Festival of Industry explores the borough's industrial heritage through modern arts. The programme has already commissioned 20 artists and arts organisations, actively engaged 2,482 residents and established 73 events which enabled opportunities for the exchange of key skills. Enfield Council aims to create a thriving economy for Enfield-based creatives and encourage inward investment towards building the creative sector to fuel sustainable employment and skills development.

Cabinet Member for Public Spaces, Culture and Local Economy, Cllr Chinelo Anyanwu said: "We are determined to champion Enfield's long industrial history and cultivate a rich connection with the residents, organisations and businesses.”

“Through initiatives like the Festival of Industry, we can inspire creativity within our community, whilst reflecting on the cultural diversity offered by Enfield to our residents through workshops, exhibitions and more".  The sessions are available on a drop-in basis at Dugdale Arts Centre from 12pm to 4pm and can be enjoyed by all ages. An evening of poetry with the Enfield Poets will then follow from 5pm. To book tickets and for further information, visit www.enfieldfestivalofindustry.com/whatson/festival-of-industry-showcase
