TRNC President Tatar visited TurkishBank UK’s offices during his London trip

The bank proudly sponsored the sixth Turkish Cypriot Cultural Festival by the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations (CTCA) this year and briefed the President on their digital innovation projects This first Presidential visit focused primarily on T- Gate London, a digital technologies project aiming to be the 'Gate to London' for Turkey and TRNC- based start-ups and scale-ups.’TurkishBank UK, part of the TurkishBank Group that has been active since 1901, sponsored the 6th Turkish Cypriot Cultural Festival this year, organised by the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations (CTCA).

The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar, attended the festival which took place on July 2nd in Enfield and later visited TurkishBank UK’s London Headquarters to have meetings with senior management and staff.

During this official gathering which marked the first Presidential meeting at the TurkishBank UK offices, the bank’s digital transformation project T-Gate’s expansion plans were discussed. T-Gate, which will launch in London this year, is a digital entrepreneurship ecosystem that is expected to contribute to the Group’s goals to transform Northern Cyprus into a ‘technology island.’

President Tatar was briefed on the project that has already opened its doors to start-ups and scale- ups after successful launches in İstanbul and Nicosia. He expressed his support for T-Gate’s London hub and emphasised the importance of the programme for TRNC. The Group has continuously collaborated with fin-tech companies due to their commitment to become a technology bank that stands with technology. T-Gate is a representation of this vision and the bank’s aims to pioneer not only financial services, but also technology and social responsibility in the industry.

  TRNC become more globalised, starting from Turkey and the UK. T-Gate will continue to create many significant opportunities for young entrepreneurs from TRNC.
