Enfield Council continues to invest in Edmonton, supported by £11.9 million in funding

Building on previous successful projects like Angel Yard, the Living Room Library, and the Fore Street Murals*, the new initiative, called Shaping Edmonton, will fund 11 projects to improve public spaces, community facilities, and the local economy. To launch the program, residents and businesses are invited to an event at the Living Room Library on Fore Street on Thursday, 27 March. The event will give people a chance to learn about and shape the projects and find out how they can get involved.

The Shaping Edmonton programme will focus on:

Improving public spaces and safety to make the area more welcoming and lively
Improving homes and community services to better support residents and businesses
Upgrading transport links to make it easier to walk, cycle, and use public transport
Promoting health, wellbeing, and economic growth to create a strong, inclusive community with opportunities for everyone
Enfield Council is working with partners, including the government, Mayor of London, Greater London Authority, Transport for London, and the Metropolitan Police, to make this vision a reality.

Councillor Ergin Erbil, Leader of Enfield Council, said: "This investment is a big step forward for Edmonton. We’re committed to creating a connected and stronger community. We want residents and businesses to play a key role in this transformation, so we encourage everyone to come to the launch event and get involved."

The launch event will feature activities, performances, artwork, and exhibitions to celebrate the start of this exciting new phase. The project team will be on hand to answer questions and collect feedback from the community. The Shaping Edmonton Community Room will be set up in the Living Room Library on Fore Street throughout the programme and will display information about all 11 projects.
