Seyyare Beyzade, Chair of the Turkish Women's Philanthropic Association (TWPA) said: "We are so proud that the TWPA laid wreaths in four London boroughs today- Haringey, Barnet, Enfield and Elstree / Borehamwood - on behalf of the Turkish Cypriot Remembrance Society for our community. Many of our members have parents, family members and friends who served and gave up their todays so we can have our tomorrows."
"This year lots of other Associations joined us in laying wreaths on behalf of the Turkish Cypriot community including BTCA , CTCA and Alp Mehmet MVO.
"It is important that Turkish Cypriots as a community are represented at events like these. Our heroes must not be ignored or forgotten."
Major Martin said: "I am proud to represent the British Army in laying a wreath for Sapper Cengis Azimkar, as we do every year.He was shot down in Northern Ireland by the IRA in 2009 as he was about to leave for Afghanistan.It is right that he be remembered here in his home-borough.A similar wreath is being laid in Northern Ireland as we speak."
