The Mancunian Way whole, the 40 ft crater impede the life of the people

Football fans heading to Man City's clash with Chelsea could face traffic chaos on Sunday with road closures in place due to a 40ft hole on the Mancunian Way. The giant gaping hole, which appeared following torrential rain and flooding on Friday morning, could see the eastbound stretch of the road closed for weeks while it is repaired. Town hall bosses are working with United Utilities officers to assess the damage. The road will remain completely closed – in both directions – until Monday at the earliest. The westbound carriageway could open next week if it is deemed safe. People are being urged to stay away from the area as it is extremely unsafe. Work to stabilise the site is underway.
