An Illinois woman whose 26-year-old daughter is engaged to marry incarcerated mass murderer Charles Manson has spoken out about the couple's relationship.
Manson, 80, has been issued a license to marry the much-younger Afton Elaine Burton, who visits him in prison and runs several websites advocating Manson's innocence.
Burton left her Midwestern home nine years ago and moved to Corcoran, California - the site of the prison - to be near Manson.
Her mother Melissa Burton told ABC News on Tuesday that she thinks Manson's love for his bride-to-be is genuine.
'He does. I think he does. She has been good to him,' she told the news outlet, saying that Manson has done the same in return.
