UN ignores alleged peace plan for Syria

New York, UN rejected existence of 'New Syria peace plan', published by Asharq Alawsat newspaper.

The UN stated on Thursday that they rejected the existence of "New Syria peace plan", an alleged plan published by Asharq Alawsat newspaper for a solution to end the Syria conflict. According to a statement released from the UN, neither Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Ban Ki-moon nor UN Special envoy for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, were aware about the plan. It was stressed in the statement that they did not have any ideas about the alleged plan and underlined that Brahimi keeps holding negotiations with both sides in Syria for a peaceful solution.
