PN, "No stability possible in region unless a Palestinian state with capital Jerusalem gets established," Secretary General of the Arab League says

Secretary General of the Arab League, Nabil el-Araby on Tuesday said that "no stability was possible in the region unless a Palestinian state with capital Jerusalem got established." Delivering the opening remarks at the 24th Ordinary Arab League Summit in Qatari capital of Doha, Nabil el-Araby underlined that the Arab League tried to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis. Expressing his pleasure over seeing the President of the Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces, Moaz al-Khatib as the official representative of the Syrian people at the Doha Summit, el-Araby indicated that it was the Assad regime as the main responsible party for the crisis in Syria.

"Unable to take a decision to end the bloodshed in Syria, the UN Security Council also has a share in the Syrian crisis," el-Araby noted.

Reiterating that he recognized the Syrian National Coalition as the legitimate representative of the Syrian people, el-Araby made a call on the Arab League to preserve the unity of the Syrian people and to extend support to the Syrian refugees.

El-Araby underlined that he supported the establishment of a fund to support the Palestinian economy and Jerusalem.
