Enfield Council has launched a small grants scheme to help residents celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

The Leader of Enfield Council, Cllr Nesil Caliskan, said, We know many residents will want to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in the appropriate manner and pay tribute to a woman who has served her nation with dignity, devotion and stoicism for 70 years.

Local community and neighbourhood groups who want to hold their own celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary of the Queen becoming the nation’s head of state will have the £50 fee for street closures waived, and can also apply for funding towards their event.The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee runs from 2 – 5 June and residents will be able to find more information about organising street parties, Enfield Council’s work to support the Queens Green Canopy, commemorative tree planting and other community events on its website at www.enfield.gov.uk/services/your-council/queens-platinum-jubilee-2022.

The Leader of Enfield Council, Cllr Nesil Caliskan, said: “We know many residents will want to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in the appropriate manner and pay tribute to a woman who has served her nation with dignity, devotion and stoicism for 70 years.“Enfield Council is doing everything it can to make it easier to help residents who want to pay their respect to Queen Elizabeth by making grants available for community events and waiving the fee for road closures required for street parties.“We want to encourage people to come together and celebrate this momentous event, but also to use this event as an opportunity for our residents get to know their neighbours better, break down barriers and also celebrate everything that makes Enfield a great place in which to live.“
